Big and Tall Hunting Clothes
Most big guys find it hard to shop for clothing to begin with, it especially challenging for large hunters to find the right hunting clothes. Part of the difficulty are body parts. For instance legs always seem to be too short or to thin. The waist also offers a challenge, especially for larger hunters because camos never seem to fit properly and always seem to be like “high waters” around the ankles. This article is about finding big and tall hunting clothes.
First, I would like to clear up a few misunderstandings. Big and tall clothing in general is not just for the obese, sometimes this is true, but no always the case. In fact, “big and tall” clothing categories start at extra large (xl). It is true that 4x to 6x are also represented. Taller hunters will fit this category too starting at extra large tall (xlt). Those men that are taller there are clothes that go up to 4 extra large tall (4xlt).
When hunting there are really are three factors that big or tall hunters should consider about there clothes:
* Comfort
* Warmth
* Durability
Although most major & small cities have regular Big and Tall stores, there are very few hunting stores that carry specific “big and tall hunting clothes“. Below will be a graphical list of the products that you can get online, so that you will have a good idea to know what to look for in big and tall hunting clothes.
Using the power of the internet, there isn’t any excuses why a big or tall hunter can’t find comfortable clothing to wear. Unlike regular big and tall clothing, it’s not about what you look like, but obviously you want to have the right camouflage. So, looks are not really that important.
A word of warning though, unfortunately big and tall hunting clothes are going to be more expensive. This is the case with any “big and tall” clothing, mostly for two reasons. These larger clothes take more thread and fabric regular clothing. There are areas that are double sewn, like the elbows, knees and crotch areas. The other reason they charge more, and this is sort of sad, is that since bigger guys don’t fall under “normal” sizes, so they are considered a spatial order customer.
Research is your friend
The absolute best way to get the best deal is research. Look around online for the brands that you would like to wear, see if they have your size and then find a retailer that will offer the lowest price. Seriously, why pay more than you have too?
You won’t have to worry about durability for your big and tall hunting clothes because all hunting clothes are built tough and sturdy. As mentioned before, hunting clothes in general are made to withstand the riggers of the outdoor terrain.
As for warmth for your clothing, they are many considerations like…
* Where are you hunting?
* What season will you be hunting in, winter, fall, spring, or summer?
* What type of game will you be hunting?
* What type of terrain will you be hunting be in?
I know this a little off topic, but I would read another article I wrote that specifies more of the about these questions when I addressed the Woman Hunting Clothes. Of course, if you are a woman reading this article, that article will be right up your alley.
